Irish jeweler Fíor wins €50,000 boost for growth

Fíor Jewellery secured a €50,000 grant from Carrolls Irish Gifts under the Fáilte 2026 program, an effort to strengthen retail growth for new Irish brands. This year’s competition saw a record 79% rise in entries, with more than 220 businesses vying for the opportunity.
The initiative, now entering its fourth year, offers winners dedicated retail space, promotional backing, mentorship, and guidance on merchandising and product placement. Founded by entrepreneur Seán Leddin, Fíor Jewellery creates modern designs rooted in Irish language, tradition, and national identity. Its collections, such as the Ireland Map, Grá, and Claddagh-themed lines, combine heritage motifs with contemporary styling.
Carrolls CEO Peter Hyland praised the brand’s ability to balance cultural authenticity with market appeal. “Fíor stood out for its strong understanding of both its customer and its identity, taking Irish language and heritage and translating them into contemporary, commercially strong products,” he said. “Supporting Irish businesses has always been at the heart of Carrolls, and Fáilte is another way for us to help homegrown brands reach their potential.”

The grant comes as Carrolls sources 80% of its inventory from Irish suppliers. Past recipients like Enniskinn and SnooZip have expanded their distribution through the program, with Enniskinn alone now stocked in over 300 locations across Ireland and the UK after winning in 2024.
Leddin said winning the initiative represented a significant milestone for the business. “I never imagined at the time that it would grow into what it is today, so being named the Fáilte 2026 winner is a huge moment for us,” he said. “Having Fíor on shelves in Carrolls and getting that support from a team who really understands Irish products and customers is an incredible opportunity.”
