ASX: Tungsten Refinery Restart and Rare Earth Drilling Hits

Investors tracking the ASX this morning will see a mix of resource restarts, drilling breakthroughs, and strategic expansions across the resource and technology sectors. American Tungsten & Antimony (ASX:AT4) has kicked off an early restart of its Del Sol hydromet refinery in Nevada, producing antimony flake from Arizona-sourced ore to demonstrate a mine-to-metal pathway for government offtakers. The company aims to secure supply chains for defence applications through this accelerated production campaign.
Resource drilling and expansions
Barkly Rare Earths (ASX:BAK) has returned significant intercepts from all 28 holes assayed in its Phase 1 drilling program at the Northern Territory project, with drillholes spanning up to 23km apart. One specific result includes 2m at 2,716ppm TREO from just 11m. Cannindah Resources (ASX:CAE) has mobilised a second diamond rig to accelerate resource expansion drilling at the Queensland deposit, with an updated Mineral Resource Estimate targeted by end-September. The company builds on a base of 14.5Mt at 1.09% copper equivalent.
True North Copper (ASX:TNC) has lifted the consolidated Mongoose-Taipan resource at its Cloncurry Copper Project by 49% to 11.2Mt at 0.76% copper equivalent. This increase raises contained copper across the broader project by around 18%. Meanwhile, Waratah Minerals (ASX:WTM) has recorded gold recoveries above 89% from early-stage geometallurgical test work at the NSW project. The results identify coarse, free-milling gold consistent with a simple conventional processing pathway.
Strategic approvals and takeovers
Equus Energy (ASX:EQU) has secured Alcoa approval to progress to Stage Two of its gas project on WA’s North West Shelf. The approval unlocks a further US$1.5 million in funding to support partnering activities following completion of Pre-FEED studies. Evion Group (ASX:EVG) has been admitted to the US Defense Industrial Base Consortium, providing a second Department of Defense contracting channel to strengthen pathways for supplying Nevada fluorspar and Madagascar graphite into US defence supply chains.

Challenger Gold (ASX:CEL) has upgraded to the OTCQX Best Market in the US, trading under the symbol CLLEF. The company seeks to broaden its investor base as it advances the Hualilán gold project in Argentina toward commercial production. Javelin Minerals (ASX:JAV) has entered a binding deed under which First Au will acquire the company in an all-scrip takeover. The combined group will hold Gimlet, Riverina East, Eureka and Coogee gold projects near Kalgoorlie with a combined resource of about 350,600oz gold.
Locking in government and industrial offtakers early allows companies like Evion Group and American Tungsten & Antimony to position themselves ahead of potential export restrictions or domestic manufacturing incentives. This strategic positioning often enables smaller miners to access capital and regulatory support that would otherwise be unavailable.
EBR Systems (ASX:EBR) has met with the FDA to align on a plan to proactively update labelling on its WiSE wireless cardiac pacing system. The company will address echo-induced pacing risks via a streamlined Changes Being Effected submission expected in Q4 2026. EMVision (ASX:EMV) has completed the first in-field trial of its First Responder brain scanner aboard Melbourne’s Mobile Stroke Unit. The trial achieved average scan times under seven minutes, and the company signed an MoU with the Australian Stroke Alliance to pursue further non-dilutive research funding.
